Kendal’s RAF Woolly Wordsearch Town Trail
After months of planning and designing, it finally came together! The Kendal RAF Woolly Wordsearch Town Trail sent thousands of children and their families searching for sheep – and lots of missing letters to complete the mystery words…
The Brief…
Well, it was a funny one – but I think we cracked it. The brief involved incorporating sheep and wool (yep, very Kendal) with a wordsearch (uh huh…) and the RAF centenary commemorations (riiiiiight?). Mix them up and what do you get? A very red, white and blue sheep, (Ralph), flying his Spitfire over Kendal, dropping the letters he needs to complete his word-search over the town. The trail included finding the letters in various shops and businesses, and working out the words they spell. It’s the Woolly Wordsearch Trail of course!
Ralph the RAF Ram had a few of his woolly helpers around town too – did you find them all?
Also… this year’s town centre art installation just so happened to be woolly Spitfires. AND… there was a real-life Spitfire on display at New Road Common. Fabulous!
